Kappa Eta Chapter, Inc. of Chi Eta Phi Sorority was chartered on September 27, 1986, at Hofstra University, Hempstead, N.Y. The late Dana Y. Lopez and the late Glovinia P. Wilkerson spearheaded the chapter chartering in response to a need for a chapter to serve residents living in the Nassau and Suffolk County communities of Long Island, N.Y. Kappa Eta Chapter was the 57th chapter of Chi Eta Phi Sorority, Inc. and there were 27 charter members. Kappa Eta Chapter has a 501(c) 3 tax exemption and provides service to the community at no charge. Our activities provides public service through projects such as health promotion, disease prevention, programs for seniors and youth and services to the homeless in addition to mentoring and have provided health education to pregnant and parenting teens. Chi Care Calls to the sick and shut in. Also continuing education .workshops for healthcare professionals

Chi Eta Phi Sorority, Inc.
Kappa Eta is a local chapter of Chi Eta Phi Sorority, Inc. a culturally diverse organization of registered professional nurses and nursing students. It was foundered on October 16, 1932 by Aliene C.Ewell with the help of eleven dynamic registered nurses. The sorority was organized at Freeman's Hospital in Washington with the purpose of providing service to humanity, elevating the plane of nursing and increasing interest in the field of nursing.

Welcome to the website of Kappa Eta Chapter Incorporated of Chi Eta Phi Sorority Incorporated. We have proudly provided “Service for Humanity” to Nassau and Suffolk Counties since September 27, 1986 and currently hold 501 (c) 3 status.
As president of Kappa Eta Chapter Incorporated, I am proud to serve a chapter that is committed to reducing health inequities in our communities by providing health education and screenings. In addition, financial support is given to nursing students via scholarships as well as mentoring. We are also committed to the professional development of nurses and our members serve in varied areas of nursing including clinical nursing, education, administration, information technology, and research.

Registered Professional Nurses working together to ensure that the communities of Nassau and Suffolk Counties are educated about health habits, diet and exercise, heart health. The importance of prevention, recognition and living with diabetes, hypertension is stressed. Monitoring blood pressures at the Hempstead Public Library, at health fairs and church events is one way the member of Kappa Eta share health information.
